Biography
I am a STEM educator and former CERN particle physicist. CERN is a research laboratory near Geneva in Switzerland and is home to the Large Hadron Collider – the largest particle accelerator in the world!
My research experience has included me working as a researcher with Princeton University. During that time, I worked on the development of an artificial intelligence algorithm for the CMS detector at CERN.
I am now a Lecturer in Computing at the University of Central Lancashire London and a tutor at the City Literary Institute (CityLit).
My career history can be found on my LinkedIn page.
In addition to my research and teaching, I am passionate about science communication and outreach work to help inspire the next generation. I am originally from a working class background in Dagenham, East London, so I am particularly passionate about social mobility. I regularly give talks to members of the public and schools; audience sizes have been as large as 360 people.
If you would like to request to have me as a speaker at an event or for media work, feel free to contact me here.
Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, hiking and training in martial arts. I practised Jujitsu for over ten years and I am a black belt. I currently train in Taekwondo and I am a red tab belt: I am training for my black belt this year. I also enjoy language learning. I have achieved a diplôme approfondi de langue française (DALF) at the C1 level and I am learning German and Italian.
