Biography
I am a STEM communicator former CERN particle physicist. I have worked on the CMS experiment at CERN. CERN is a research laboratory near Geneva in Switzerland and is home to the Large Hadron Collider – the largest particle accelerator in the world!
I am originally from a working class background in Dagenham, East London.
My research experience has included me working as a researcher with Princeton University while I was based at CERN. I worked on the development of an artificial intelligence algorithm for the CMS trigger. The trigger decides which data might contain signs of interesting physics and discards the rest.
My career history can be found on my LinkedIn page.
In addition to my research, I am passionate about science communication and outreach work to help inspire the next generation of scientists! I regularly give talks to members of the public and to schools. Audience sizes have been as large as 360 people.
If you would like to request to have me as a speaker at an event or for media work, feel free to contact me here.
I also enjoy travelling, hiking and training in martial arts. I practised Jujitsu for over ten years, in which I am a black belt. I have a green tab in Taekwondo. I also enjoy language learning: I have a diplôme approfondi de langue française at the C1 level and I am learning German.
